TaskListReference

The task list is the entry point to TaskEstimation. It grants access to active and past tasks through filtering of the list. On the default view, the list presents all the tasks with the active tag. However, any list can be obtained. Two filters are available: With and Without. Both of them filter based on tags and can be combined together. The first one will display only tasks containing all the tags listed. The second one will display all tasks containing none of the tags listed.

The task list also allows to create new tasks, rename them, set tags, change metrics and navigate to other interfaces.

Like other interfaces, navigation can be made using the mouse or the keyboard.

Modify tasks

The text field close to the Unspecified icon can be used to create new tasks. The task will be added to the bottom of the list and will contain the tags associated to the With filter. Each task contains the following elements:

  • A label as entered in the creation field
  • A tag list below the label
  • Unspecified icon to access the subtask editor
  • Unspecified icon to access the spacial editor
  • Unspecified icon to access the estimation interface
  • Unspecified icon to remove the task
  • A list of numeric values, one for each metric

After creation, all values can be edited by clicking on the text.

New metrics can be added using the text field at the end of the heading column.

Keyboard navigation

By default, the title of the first task is selected unless the list is empty, in which case the new field will be selected. The effect of keyboard shortcuts depend on the selected task.

  • Escape places the focus on the first task
  • Enter or any key will open up edit mode for the selected item
  • Arrow keys moves the selected field in the specified direction
  • Ctrl-N places the focus on the new task field
  • Ctrl-C places the focus on the new column field
  • Ctrl-M opens up the subtask editor for the current task
  • Ctrl-S opens up the spacial edditor for the current task
  • Ctrl-E opens up the estimation interface for the current task
